Join this opportunity to hear the story of change in an important automobile-free right of way connecting downtown Marblehead with the boundaries of Salem and Swampscott, changes that will provide improved recreational opportunities, access to Marblehead’s natural open spaces, freedom of travel and significant environmental impact. Rebecca Curran Cutting, Former Marblehead Town Planner, had the first job of turning a town meeting decision to formalize a former railroad right of way, purchased to provide a corridor for light, water and sewer utilities, taking on the additional function of being an easement for recreation.
Refreshments will be served at 6:30 p.m., and the lecture will start at 7 p.m.
Registration is required to attend in person or via Zoom - please register at tinyurl.com/rail-trail. After registering for Zoom, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting online.
