The Lonesome Heroes - Live Concert Taping at Carousel Lounge - June 18th, 2024

Free and open to the public, this show has been financed in whole by the City of Austin’s Live Music Fund Event Program. Plenty of parking, seating, and a dance floor at a 60+ year old honky-tonk. Poet Grant Mattthew Francis Cross will be the master of ceremonies, singer-songwriter Longriver opens the evening at 7:30 P.M. and The Lonesome Heroes start at 8:00 PM. Doors are at 7:00 P.M. The Lonesome Heroes: The Lonesome Heroes have been dancing the line between indie, country, and Americana sounds for nearly two decades in Austin, TX. Their latest album, ‘Seasons Change’, paints a picture of sonic and scenic landmarks—a mural of musical influences inspired by interstate miles. Restless rock & roll, lackadaisical honky-tonk, and a modern take on Cosmic American Music all converge here in the 6th album in the Heroes discography. “Reignite your Texas twang with the Lonesome Heroes, stirrers of an Americana- and country-infused psychedelic melting pot. The band’s latest, ‘Seasons Change,’ takes the scenic route to Western Swing, serene strums, and honky-tonk ballads” - Austin Chronicle https://thelonesomeheroes.com/ Longriver: Longriver was born David Longoria (The Black, ...And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead) in Houston, Texas. He is a singer, songwriter, and poet living in Austin. Influenced by the songs of Bob Dylan, Charley Patton, John Fahey, Rolling Stones, Hank Williams, etc., Longriver plays guitar and harmonica. “David Longoria crafts folk tunes that feel both simple and complex. Longriver’s 2019 debut LP, ‘Of Seasons,’ delivered easy rolling melodies that could belie his poetic allegories and subtle, Fahey-esque fingerpicking.” – Austin Chronicle http://www.longriversongs.com/ Carousel Lounge: An Austin icon since 1963, the circus is in town all year round at the Carousel Lounge. It’s a colorful carnival-themed watering hole that’s a hit with the locals and visitors lucky enough to discover it. Elephant and lion tamer murals, plus an actual carousel behind the bar, form a backdrop for live performances. It’s the only place around where circus-themed murals frame the bar and a very large pink elephant takes center stage. The Carousel boasts live music most nights of the week and plenty of room to scoot around the dance floor. http://www.carousellounge.net/
