The Little Mo Effect book - Changing lives “We mended together–his feet and my soul.
Orthopaedic surgeon Dr. Pier Boutin and her daughter Soumya are speaking at OLLI in Pittsfield on April 26th at 7 pm. The talk will focus on Dr. Boutin's journey from the 2010 Haiti earthquake to the Atlas Mountains of Morocco, as described in her book, The Little Mo Effect. There she met a four-year-old boy, "Little Mo", with his clubfeet clad in bright pink boots. Helping him to walk changed their lives.
Soumya, Little Mo's sister, will share her path from the the Atlas Mountains to the United States. She will also expound upon her foundation, as she hopes to make education available for girls in the remote mountain villages.
