The Gateway Ringers
The public is invited to immerse themselves in the eclectic sounds of The Gateway Ringers, a premier handbell ensemble, comprised of musicians from the St. Louis metropolitan area. Formed in 1995, their mission is to inspire excellence in musicianship and heighten awareness of handbell music. The Gateway Ringers perform using five octaves of Malmark handbells & six octaves of Malmark Choirchimes.
The group is currently under the direction of Dr. Cathy Benton, Professor of Music at Missouri Baptist University in St. Louis, Missouri where she teaches piano in addition to directing the MBU Ringers. Dr. Benton is a member of the Handbell Association of Greater St. Louis and the Handbell Musicians of America. She has also served as the Missouri State Chair for the Handbell Musicians of America.
