The Detention Lottery takes us where friends, family, cameras, reporters, and concerned citizens like us rarely go: all-but-secret immigration detention courtrooms. We see and feel the impact of the desperate conversations between attorneys and their clients, and life-and-death decisions made in a traffic court setting.
Local playwright Margaret O'Donnell wrote The Detention Lottery to address her despair as an immigration attorney, to help Americans understand what is being done in their names in the courts.
Come see it for yourself. No admission charge; donations gratefully accepted to support immigrant justice programs. Stay for the talkback with the immigration attorneys.
Admission is free; donations gratefully accepted to support immigrant justice programs.
