The Compassion Shift Speaker Series at Emory University
Organized and hosted by the Emory University’s Center for Contemplative Science and Compassion-Based Ethics, this speaker series takes place over two days. It celebrates the work and global impact made by the Emory Compassion Center over almost three decades of a unique collaboration with Emory Presidential Distinguished Professor His Holiness the Dalai Lama. The event also kicks off a Year of Compassion at Emory––an initiative honoring the Dalai Lama’s 90th birthday––dedicated to exploring how compassion is expressed through teaching, research, creative work, service and daily interactions. This day’s sessions are: “Compassion and Human Flourishing” featuring Dr. Arthur C. Brooks (9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.), and “Compassion as Medicine” with Dr. Lisa Miller (11:15 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.).
