The Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon

After years of anticipation, Newsome High School is thrilled to unveil its new state-of-the-art theater this week, marking the occasion with the opening night of The Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon. This comedic retelling of classic fairy tales will run from November 14-16 and is the first production in the new 964-seat, 25,100-square-foot auditorium. The journey to this opening has not been without its challenges. Between navigating construction delays and two hurricanes, Newsome’s theater students, staff, and supporters have rallied around the mantra, "The show must go on." Originally built in 2003, the previous 600-seat auditorium often struggled to meet the needs of the school's growing arts program. With input from students, parents, and community members, the new theater promises an enhanced space with professional-grade acoustics, expanded classrooms for the arts, and updated amenities. "The Newsome community has shown immense support throughout this project," said Jeff Bogue, Newsome's chorus teacher. "This new space is designed not only for current students but also for future generations who will bring their talents to the stage." Tickets for The Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon are $10 for adults and $5 for students and children, making it an affordable evening of entertainment for families and community members alike.
