The Best of the Rest: Staged Readings of the 8 Tens @ 8 Runners-Up
See the runners-up from this year's popular 8 Tens @ 8 Short Play Festival performed script in hand by an ensemble cast with simple staging. Actors' Theatre receives many fine scripts for consideration for the 8 Tens @ 8, Each year, the reading committee selects 24 plays to send to the 16 directors. The plays chosen by directors received a full production in January/February, and the 8 runners-up are performed as staged readings in the "Best of the Rest" production. Best of the Rest celebrates the diversity and quality of the scripts received as Festival submissions, and gives audiences another way to experience an enjoyable and varied evening of original works. There is often even fierce debate among audience members about whether some of the “rest” should have been done as part of the Festival. Come see a talented cast and directors bring each play to life in this unique format.
