The Art of Rewriting

Participants will undertake rewriting an existing (unpublished) work of prose--fiction or nonfiction. Emphasis will be on rethinking such elements as formatting, pace, word choice, and--most importantly--desired readership. Attendees may either bring an older work--any medium--or create a new one for rewriting purposes. Instructor: Michael Wright Instructor Bio: Michael Wright is an avid explorer of writing dedicated to examining the thousand-and-one questions about what makes humans so truly wondrous and downright contrary at the same time. His works range from novels and plays to poetry, radio drama and performance art/spoken word. Each new creative effort seeks out the possibility of continual experimentation with forms and pushing the limits of expression.
