Whether it be modernist abstraction or sentimental, soft-focus paintings, all of us have art that we don't like. But what if looking at art can be more than passing judgment? A practice of redeeming vision--that involves embodied, loving, and transformative looking--allows us to learn from, not just about the objects we see. We may even find that such artworks might prompt us to personal confession and a growing love for God and our neighbor.
Hosted by TCP church partner: Grace & Peace Fellowship (5574 Delmar Blvd, St. Louis, MO 63112).
Reception and book signing to follow in The Kingsbury Gallery (books for sale by Subterranean Books).
