The 40th Annual Run For the Roses 5K and 1Mile Kids' Fun Run
Event benefits Grafton Community Library, and includes a Kids’ 1 Mile Fun Run, along with USATF sanctioned 5K race. Register online at www.finishright.com or download application from www.graftoncommunitylibrary.org. Race course and more info on the Grafton Library website. Register early for reduced entry fee. The 5K starts at 9 a.m., $30, day of race $35. Fun Run starts at 10 a.m., $12 either early or day of race. All paid registered participants receive a tee-shirt, free book and a rose. Fun Run kids receive a t-shirt, book, Stewart’s ice cream cone certificate and a ribbon.
The 5K Race course follows the Park Entrance Road, continues along Route 2, around the Town Park and back into the Park on Long Pond Road. The first half of the course is downhill, with uphill slopes on the second half. Water stations are near the half point. Mile markers and split times will be available. The Race finishes under the Race Banner.
The Kids’ 1 Mile Fun Run begins in the main parking lot, proceeds through the woods and along the beach. The Fun Run finishes under the Race Banner.
The time clock will be running at the finish line for the convenience of participants.
Awards are presented following the race. Medals awarded to top three in each 5K age division. Refreshments are provided, and showers are located near the finish line. The Park offers beach and picnic facilities
