Tastes and Treasures
“Tastes and Treasures” is an annual fundraiser by the Salvation Army Omaha
Women’s Auxiliary to raise funds that support local Salvation Army programs. This is the 15th annual
event, and it will focus on “Providing Hope to All Ages.” Attendees will learn about The Salvation Army’s
work in the community; enjoy a meal with friends; hear from a motivating speaker; and participate in
silent and live auctions and giving opportunities.
Event funds support critical Salvation Army programs. Past examples include:
• Items that directly benefit clients, such as Thanksgiving turkeys for the Burrows Center food pantry; linens and cookware for residents moving into Salvation Army housing; and bus passes for clients to get to counseling appointments or jobs.
• Materials that enhance local Salvation Army programs, such as computers, musical instruments, video streaming equipment and workbooks.
• Durable equipment, including freezers, ovens, mattresses for the new Western Plains camp and more.
