Experience the annual Taste of Old Town North
featuring neighborhood food, shops, music and more!
Alexandria,VA - August 26, 2025 - The Taste of Old Town North is back, celebrating the neighborhood’s unique restaurants, performers, artisans and more! This year’s Taste is on
Thursday, September 18, 4:00-8:00 p.m., in Montgomery Park, 901 North Royal Street, Alexandria, VA.
The Taste of Old Town North is free, family- and pet-friendly, and features an artisans’ market, gourmet restaurant tastings, and other activities for all to enjoy including music from two local bands. In addition, the City of Alexandria’s Office of the Arts’ Mobile Art Lab will be featured at the Taste event. The Mobile Art Lab offers supplies and support staff for kids of all ages to make art.
“The City of Alexandria is happy to support the Old Town North Community Partnership’s focus on celebrating the charms of Old Town North,” says Mayor Alyia Gaskins. “The taste celebrates and creates a welcoming atmosphere for all who live, work, own small businesses or come out to play in the diverse neighborhoods of Old Town North.”
Taste sponsors proudly welcome City of Alexandria Vice Mayor Sarah Bagley, who will make remarks at the event.
Participating Old Town North restaurants include Jula’s on the Potomac, Hank’s Oyster Bar, MacMillan Spirit and Ale House, Hank’s Pasta Bar, Hotel AKA Alexandria’s a.lounge+bar, and St. Elmo’s Old Town North Coffee Pub.
Live music at the Taste will include performances by Hope and Nate from 5:00- 6:00 p.m., followed by The Mod from 6:00-7:45 p.m.

Several local non-profit organizations will be onsite at the event, providing information on their activities and opportunities to volunteer including the League of Women Voters, Alive!, Housing Alexandria, Alexandria Film Festival, Alexandria Seaport Foundation, North Old Town Independent Citizens Association (NOTICe), and Volunteer Alexandria.
“HRP Group is proud to again sponsor the Taste of Old Town North,” says Michelle Beaman Chang, Vice President of Development for HRP Group and local project lead. “Our team looks forward to this opportunity to connect with our neighbors and celebrate the Old Town North community each year. This year, we are especially excited to share our updated plans for more than 10 acres of new public open space and the first phase of vertical development as we work to transform the former power plant site into a vibrant community destination.”
The Taste of Old Town North is presented by the Old Town North Community Partnership in partnership with the City of Alexandria Department of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Affairs, with support from Annual Season Sponsor Hilco Redevelopment Partners (HRP), the Old Town North Alliance, River’s Edge Yoga, 1199 North Fairfax, and other local community members. The event concert is sponsored by the Old Town North Community Partnership business members.

On street parking is available in the Old Town North neighborhood or public parking located at 625 North Washington Street.
