The Brewing Heritage Trail has spent years preserving and celebrating the stories of Cincinnati's profound brewing history. Now, we are ready to build the next chapter. We are proud to announce our most ambitious project yet: The American Museum of Brewing. Before our permanent doors open, we invite you to experience a free preview of our vision. Join us for our inaugural pop-up exhibit, “Tapping into Tradition: How Immigrant Labor & Innovation Created a Brewing Boomtown.”
This FREE, all ages, immersive exhibit will take place during the American's River Roots Festival, a signature event celebrating 250th anniversary of the United States. From October 9-12, 2025, visitors will have the rare opportunity to step inside a piece of history that is central to the museum's story: the historic lagering cellars of the Jackson Brewery in Over-the-Rhine. This authentic, subterranean setting will provide a rare and unforgettable glimpse into the industry’s revolutionary past, allowing you to walk the very same paths where the foundations of Cincinnati’s brewing boom were laid.
We will also have a beer garden on site where guests can sample two different beers produced by the Carillon Brewing Company who brew by hand, 1850s style, with a wood fired, gravity fed system. Additionally, we'll have some local craft beer favorites and soft drinks, so there should be something for everyone.
Don’t miss this rare chance to walk through Cincinnati’s brewing history!
