Price Chopper/Market 32 announces it is partnering with the Connect Center for Youth to present the organization’s 2024 “Tacos for Life” fundraiser on Saturday, July 13, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. at 49 Johnston Ave, Cohoes, NY. This year’s event will feature music, a festive atmosphere, and – for the first time in the event’s history – a taco sampling tour of some of the Capital Region’s premiere restaurants and chefs’ recipes— in one location. Tickets can be purchased at any Price Chopper/Market 32 location for just $20 through Sunday, June 30. Tickets can then be purchased for $25 through the day of the event. Tickets may also be purchased for $30 on the Tacos for Life webpage.
Tickets grant guests all-you-can-eat admission to the block party and an opportunity to vote for the best taco in the 518. Local businesses putting their tacos to the test for a good cause include:
• This Guy Bites
• Bubbakoos Burritos
• Street Taco VII,
• Sabroso

All proceeds will support the Connect Center for Youth, which provides a safe, supportive setting for local youth and families in the Greater Capital Region. Connect Center programs address a wide range of needs, including but not limited to after-school enrichment, nutrition security, health and well-being, and education.
“Price Chopper/Market 32 strives to build stronger communities by providing the resources they need to thrive,” said Pam Cerrone, director of community relations at Price Chopper/Market 32. “Our mission to nourish life is reflected in our support of community events and organizations as well as the high-quality products and services we offer in our stores. We’re particularly excited to provide ingredients and supplies–including own-brand Pics products)–for the Connect Center’s Taco Masters S.T.E.A.M. Camp.”
The week-long S.T.E.A.M. Camp leading up to Tacos for Life hosts 30 children and features hands-on culinary lessons and learning activities that support their personal growth. The camp will culminate in youth creating a final recipe, which be entered into the Tacos for Life competition.
“The Taco Masters S.T.E.A.M. Camp and the Tacos for Life event are prime examples of how we at the Connect Center strive to blend education with real-world experiences,” said Ben Williams, Executive Director, at the for the Connect Center. “We believe in nurturing creativity and critical thinking in our youth, and this event allows us to do just that while bringing our community together for a common cause. We are excited to see the enthusiasm and talent of our young chefs as they compete and showcase their culinary creations. Not only does it provide a platform for our youth to shine and gain confidence in their abilities, but it also unites our community in a shared love for food and fun, all while supporting the programs that empower our young people and enrich our community.”
Guests are encouraged to bring their appetite for delicious food and a desire to help give young people experiences they may not otherwise have access to without the Connect Center for Youth’s vital programming. Come savor the new Tacos for Life format and get your tickets before they’re gone!
