Description:
Tacoma-Kitakyushu Sister Cities’ Children’s Day Festival (Kodomo no Hi) is a free annual public celebration inspired by Japan’s traditional Children’s Day holiday and Tacoma’s long-standing sister city friendship with Kitakyushu. Held at Point Defiance’s Japanese Garden and Pagoda, the festival brings together local community partners to offer families and visitors of all ages hands-on activities, performances, and cultural experiences in a spirit of community connection and international friendship. Guests are encouraged to bring a picnic lunch and enjoy the day with us in the garden.
