About the Event - The Friends of the Poor Walk is a nationwide signature event of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul USA. The Cocoa Beach event is a 5K out-and-back course beginning and ending at the Church of Our Saviour parking lot, proceeding onto Banana River Drive and surrounding neighborhoods. The race is chip timed. Refreshments available. Dogs welcome on leash.

All Funds Stay Local - The St. Vincent de Paul Our Saviour Conference has served the Cocoa Beach – Cape Canaveral community for 40 years. Every dollar raised at this event goes directly to neighbors in need. Last year, 6,245 visits and phone calls from local residents requested aid; 10,183 individual services were provided including food, clothing, transportation, rent, and more. Not one staff member receives compensation — all are volunteers.
More than 70 local businesses donated last year to last year’s 2nd Annual 5K. The Raffle Basket Extravaganza featured 45 gift baskets each valued at $100 or more. 2026 early collections are already exceeding last year's pace.
