Sunshine Jazz presents "1st Fridays Live at The Lyric"
The Sunshine Jazz Organization celebrates our 38th Season! SJO's monthly concert series "1st Fridays Live at The Lyric", is presented at the Black Archives and Historic Lyric Theater in Overtown Miami. The Lyric is a beautiful, renovated 112 year old Theater, among the oldest in the USA. Sunshine Jazz will present their August concert on Friday, Aug. 2nd with "1st Friday Live at The Lyric" featuring Claudens Louis and The CieL Experience".
Combining the styles of R&B, swing, hip-hop, and traditional Haitian music, rooted in the harmonies and improvisation of the American jazz tradition. Saxophonist and band leader, Claudens Louis, explores the infinite possibilities of these genres by using the different backgrounds, cultures and influences within the group to present fresh compositions and arrangements accessible to a wide range of listeners. As a performing artist, Louis’ experience includes performing in different countries as an American Music Ambassador for the U.S. Department of Educational and Cultural Affairs performing and conducting masterclasses in collaboration with US Embassies in Haiti, Costa Rica, Mexico, Latvia, Dushanbe, Tajikistan , and Tanzania. Each piece is a personal extension of their soul and tells a story. As a collective, the group has the same goal in mind at all times: to serve the music and the people listening to the best of their ability! No matter your background or taste, The CieL Experience is guaranteed to resonate well beyond the last note.
