In the 70’s Boston’s music underground continued to bubble up. It started with such bands in the late 60’s as the Beacon Street Union and Ultimate Spinach, as well as those who came in the 70’s such as Aerosmith, J. Geils Band, the Cars and the signature classic rock band Boston. In this mix came an artist who arrived in town and became one of the solidifying members of Boston’s music community, James Montgomery.

James was, and remains, a one-man dervish capable of grabbing an audience, controlling it and giving it a night to remember.

CHRISTINE OHLMAN "The Beehive Queen" is the current, long-time vocalist with the Saturday Night Live Band whose sixth critically acclaimed CD with Christine Ohlman & Rebel Montez, The Deep End, was honored on national end-of-year Top Ten lists.

Soul and R&B vocalist, BARRENCE WHITFIELD, best known as the frontman for Barrence Whitfield & the Savages, at Boston University where his singing was heard by musician Peter Greenberg of The Lyres began performing with Greenberg and members of his band as Barrence Whitfield & the Savages.

Continuing to perform in the UK and Europe, Whitfield just completed an extended 2023 tour of Europe
