Summer Film Screening: Artifacts + Afterlives
Join the first of our two public film screenings curated by Benny Shaffer and co-hosted by Pittsburgh Sound + Image.
The screening programs will feature experimental and documentary films projected on 16mm film and video, which take the atmosphere and ways of seeing the sky as a point of departure. Each program will be followed by a discussion exploring how visual and sonic strategies engage with various social and environmental experiences of labor and industry, while also intervening in archives and historical narratives.
The events are a part of Summer School: State of the Sky, an interdisciplinary, arts-centered education program organized by artists Luke Stettner and Calista Lyon within the State of the Sky exhibition this summer.
