A collaboration between the Eastern Connecticut Center for History, Art, and Performance (EC-CHAP) and Arthur Rovozzo! A multi-part film series featuring contemporary rock, blues and the “British Invasion”. Arthur Rovozzo is DJ for the weekly radio program “Musical Myriad” on WECS, 90.1fm.Arthur’s extensive musical knowledge and passion for historical roots has led to the development of this unique 5-part series.
As Arthur describes:
"For our music movie event on March 1st, we are presenting film segments featuring the man who was considered a successor to Jimmy Hendrix and heir to the throne - Stevie Ray Vaughn. The rise of a Texas bluesman. We are planning to view a portion of a television program where Stevie jammed with one of his heroes, guitarist Albert King. Then we get a chance to witness Vaughn with his own band and other guest players like Lonnie Mack. The last part of our presentation will be Vaughn playing a string of his favorite tunes during a concert in Georgia. Anyway you slice it - it's gonna be a rockin' blues guitar mania!"
We have compiled and will screen a selection of unique and relevant historic music related films from February thru May. This series is intended to share the journey and evolution of contemporary rock and blues from the sixties forward. Join us for the screening of Part-2 of this musical journey.
