Steppin' Away Recidivism 5k Walk/Run
Indomitable Families Affected by Incarceration (IFAM) is proud to announce the second annual "Steppin' Away Recidivism 5K Walk/Run", an event raising awareness, funds, and building community support for wrap around services that lead individuals and families to successfully re-enter society after incarceration.
Happening rain or shine, this 5K is for walkers, joggers, and runners who support IFAMs mission in helping fight recidivism and uplift families impacted by incarceration. Please join us Saturday, September 27 at 9 a.m. in Germanshire Park, 3965 S. Germantown Rd. Mark your calendars, grab your sneakers, and let's walk/run with purpose!
Reflecting on the impact IFAM has on re-entry, a former recipient of services stated:
"The Ladies at Indomitable Families helped me when I was released. They gave me the opportunity to get back on my feet and provide for my family. They provided me with the tools to locate employers who hired people with (incarcerated) backgrounds. I even secured a full-time position within a couple days." - L. Robinson
IFAM is an organization with the purpose of helping those navigating the reentry process, or have a loved one currently, or formerly incarcerated. Indomitable provides free group therapy to women, men, and youth, assists with housing opportunities, and is preparing to implement the Incarcerated to Indomitable (I2I) app to improve the mental health of those we serve. IFAM has been in operation for over 11 years serving the Shelby County area.
