Step into History Presentation - Thomas Edison and Fort Myers' First Brass Band (1885-1906)
Join Dr. Robert Apple for a presentation that tells the story of Fort Myers’ brass band, which was founded the same year as the town’s incorporation in 1885. This presentation will also discuss the long-time friendship that Thomas Edison formed with a number of the band’s members and display several of the band’s original instruments that are on temporary loan from the IMAG History and Science Center.
