Steffanie Samuels: Unnatural Climate - An Abstract View with Amy Sacka: Love Letters to Belle lsle
Steffanie Samuels abstract oil paintings and mixed media art is based on climate change and ways we can better the planet. Her work is based on climate research and she is getting ready for an artist-in residency on La Gomera, an island in the Canary Archipelago. This show will also feature the work of photographer Amy Sacka, whose project produced a year’s worth of love letters to Belle Isle from people hiking on a secluded trail as well as her photography.
This will be a community event with local environmental groups, Friends of the Detroit River and Green Living Science X along with Latin music by Alvorado, eats and beverages. The exhibition official runs June 28 - July 25, 9:00am - 5:00pm. Parking is located in front of the Crain Building Worldwide Headquarters near the Eastern Market.
