Enjoy an unforgettable evening that takes you from the dramatic Scottish coastline to
whimsical fairy tales, and then to the peaceful beauty of the countryside. The St. Augustine
Orchestra (SAO) is proud to present Landscapes & Legends, launching their 64th season
on Friday, October 24th, and Tuesday, October 28th.
"This concert is about storytelling... painting a seascape, bringing fairy tales to life, and
inviting you on a walk-through nature filled with joy, reflection, and even a storm or two. I’m
excited to share this music with you." – SAO Conductor, Scott C. Gregg
Featured Works:
- Mendelssohn's The Hebrides (Fingal’s Cave): Inspired by the echoes of waves inside an
iconic Scottish sea cave.
- Ravel's Mother Goose Suite: A tender, whimsical stroll through beloved fairy tales.
- Beethoven's Symphony No. 6 “Pastorale”: An ode to nature, complete with bird calls, a
babbling brook, and a thrilling thunderstorm.
