SPRING BREAK AT THE BULLOCK: CHILDREN'S ART CLASS

March 15 & 17, 11:00am – 12:00pm Piece together a colorful collage celebrating one of Texas's endangered migratory songbirds, the Golden-cheeked Warbler, with Texas artist Juliet Whitsett. Learn more about this rare bird species, as you choose from various recycled materials to create your collage. Juliet Whitsett has been bringing awareness to Endangered, Threatened, and Species of Greatest Conservation Need with her conservation art series THREATENED TEXAS. We hope that as you create alongside Juliet, you become inspired to protect the incredibly diverse species in our home state. Activities are designed for children five years and older. Tickets are $6 for Bullock Museum Member children and $12 for general admission children. Caregivers are invited to create alongside their children. This ticket includes Museum admission. Online ticket sales will close on the morning of the event. Onsite ticket sales will be available at the Museum up to the time of the class if there is still capacity. The Spring Break at the Bullock class series is paired with Art of Texas State Parks, a special exhibition that celebrates the Texas State Park System's 100-year history. In celebration of its centennial, the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department has commissioned Texan artists to paint scenes from their parks. Thirty artists were tasked with exploring and painting 65 parks, natural areas, and historic sites in the state park system. The selection of 34 paintings on view are as varied as the parks themselves and offer a snapshot of Texas's ecosystems and history.
