Built as a summer retreat along the banks of the Schuylkill River, Woodford was home to many prominent Philadelphia families. The women associated with Woodford played many roles and their stories are told through the impressive collection of portraits and antiques that fill the historic mansion. Tour Woodford this week to hear about the lives and legends of the women of Woodford, including Hannah Coleman, Rebecca Franks, and Bilah Abigail Franks, as well as Naomi Wood, whose antiques collection fills the museum.
Guided tours are available every hour from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Admission for a guided tour is $8 for adults; $5 for senior citizens (65+), students with valid ID and youths (13-17); and free for children 12 and under.
