Special Easter Egg Hunt for Anyone with Special Needs
On April 1, 2023, 3-5 pm, Journey Church of Urbandale, Iowa will be putting on The Special Egg Event, a unique Easter egg hunt designed specifically for those with special needs.
The Special Egg Event provides families with children of special needs the opportunity to participate in an Easter egg hunt designed for their needs. Four different Easter egg hunts are provided, each one designed to accommodate the varying needs of the children. In this format, children are able to search for treat-filled eggs at their own pace. One hunt will feature beeping eggs for children with visual impairment; another will have magnetic eggs that attach to poles for children who are in wheelchairs or have mobility restrictions; a quiet hunt will be available for children on the autism spectrum who need a quiet atmosphere. There will also be a general egg hunt for children who may need extra time hunting and a sibling hunt for anyone else in attendance.
The Special Egg Event will be 3-5 pm at the Jacobson Exhibition Center at the Iowa State Fairgrounds. Feel free to bring the whole family! In addition to the egg hunts, there will be various crafts and other activities available for all to participate in. The best part? It’s all free!
2023 will be the tenth year that Journey Church has organized the Special Egg Event. The desire of the people at Journey Church is simply to provide an opportunity to love on those with special needs. The Special Egg Event allows the church to truly exhibit love for their community in a tangible way.
