Spanish Harlem Orchestra
The three-time, GRAMMY®-winning Spanish Harlem Orchestra is one of the finest music ensembles around. They have performed at many of the great performing arts centers, festivals, and venues around the world. Salsa Navidad is a show dedicated to classic Latinx music as well as select American Christmas classics done in a salsa style. Part of the show features the Puerto Rican Christmas style known as “Aguinaldo,” which reflects the sprit and cultural essence of the Caribbean. This concert program also features the ensemble’s non-holiday, original music for which they have become so well known for.
3x GRAMMY-Award-winning Spanish Harlem Orchestra returns with their ninth studio album, Swing Forever. Releasing on August 23, 2024, Swing Forever solidifies Spanish Harlem Orchestra’s well-earned reputation as the true sound of the barrio, and “the leading light of the salsa reconstruction movement” (Newsday). Under the direction of Latin music legend Oscar Hernández, the 13-piece all-star salsa band showcases their signature hard-hitting, contemporary New York sound that pays homage to the rich musical history of the genre.
