The Kimmel Center and Curtis Institute of Music come together to redefine the classical music experience with Soundscape. Each up-close-and-personal performance transforms the SEI Innovation Studio into a uniquely conceived space, encouraging audience members to engage with classical and contemporary masterworks in new, interactive ways.
The Curtis 20/21 Ensemble performs Igor Stravinsky's The Soldier's Tale, an ageless tale of morality featuring music by classical music's seminal modernist. Flexible in size and scope, the Curtis 20/21 Ensemble performs a wide range of music from the 20th and 21st centuries. The ensemble has appeared at the Kennedy Center, Carnegie Hall, and Miller Theatre, and has collaborated with artists from eighth blackbird to Matthias Pintscher. Praised by the New York Times for its 'passionate performances,' the ensemble has presented portrait concerts of iconic composers John Corigliano, George Crumb, Krzysztof Penderecki, and Steven Stucky.
