Sole-ful Spring at The Shops at Skyview
Stop by The Shops at Skyview to enjoy a DJ, art performances, raffles, and giveaways.
-Participants who donate a pair of sneakers (new or gently worn) will receive coupons from participating tenants along with complimentary drinks.
-The Shops at Skyview, in partnership with the Queens Borough President’s Office, will be collecting gently worn or new sneakers to benefit students in need within the community, with the goal of adding color and comfort to their lives as they embrace the spring season.
Artist Jason H. Lee envisions creating portraits featuring prominent figures from the sports and fashion industries. These portraits will be intertwined with delicate, fluttering butterflies and are aimed at infusing the community with positivity during the spring season.
-In order to encourage sneaker donations, he plans to offer 10 limited-edition t-shirts designed by him to the first 10 donors.
-Artist Bio: Jason H. Lee is a New York based mixed-media artist originally from Masan, South Korea. He uses curious and uncharacteristic materials in the creation of his work such as water, fire, matches, and recycled sneakers. He participated in Skyview's K-Fun Day last year and created an eye-catch work with sneakers from Nike, Adidas and more.
