Sober Rabbit Art Sale Pop-Up Sunday, April 23 | 5-8 p.m. Bendición Dry Bar 2540 W. Division St, Chicago, IL --- Want some art for your walls but feel overwhelmed and like you can't afford it? At this event, you'll be able to browse one-of-a-kind, affordable, handmade artwork that is ready to hang. Skip the online shopping and big box stores and support an independent artist directly! Here's some of what you can expect to find for sale: - original, mixed media art at affordable prices - comics, zines, prints and workbooks - paintings on canvas and recycled media - delicate sculpture and sturdy glassware - apparel and accessories - great gifts for people in recovery While you're there, check out Bendición Dry Bar's beautiful, booze-free bottle shop and try a spirit-less drink. You can also browse artwork by other local vendors and check out Succulent City's glorious plant selection, too! Learn more at bendicionbar.com About the Artist Whitney Wasson (they/them) is a multidisciplinary artist and performer, originally from Fort Smith, Arkansas who lives in Chicago. A standup comedian who produced a slew of shows, performed at dozens of comedy festivals across the country, and made thirties of dollars, Whitney got hit at a crosswalk by a distracted driver at the end of 2019. They then became a sitdown comedian and then a stay-at-home comedian during 2020. They're now mostly a cartoonist. They write and draw Sober Rabbit, a webcomic about recovery, disability and mental health. The comic details the substance-free hijinks of Rabbit, a moody rabbit and recovering alcoholic in Chicago, and their attempt to get their sh*t together. Learn more at soberrabbit.com
