Acclaimed indie singer-songwriter Amy Rigby brings her razor-sharp wit, heartfelt storytelling, and infectious melodies to the Ugly Mug Coffeehouse in Soquel on Friday, April 19 at 7:00 p.m., in a special evening of music presented by Snazzy Productions.
A true icon of the American underground music scene, Rigby has carved out a singular career by blending the emotional honesty of folk and country with the punch of punk and the craftsmanship of classic rock. From her early days in New York’s East Village with cult favorites Last Roundup and the Shams, to her breakout solo album Diary of a Mod Housewife, Amy Rigby has been hailed as one of the most original and enduring voices in indie music.
Her latest album, Hang In There With Me (Tapete Records), continues her tradition of vibrant, emotionally resonant songwriting. Described as “a triumph of wit, guts and perseverance” (Shindig), the album tackles themes of aging, resilience, and life’s chaos with humor, insight, and rock ’n’ roll energy. Produced by her husband, punk legend Wreckless Eric, the record affirms Rigby’s place among the most vital songwriters of her generation.
