The Science Center is a proud affiliate of the Smithsonian Institute and invites world-renowned experts like Dr. Theodore Gonzalves to help inspire everyone to be curious and engaged in science. A curator at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History, Dr. Gonzalves will share thrilling stories from his book “Smithsonian Asian Pacific American History, Art, and Culture in 101 Objects” that highlights contributions from Asian American Pacific Islander innovation and invention. In addition to the presentation, he will entertain questions from the 100-person audience during this FREE event (tickets are required for admission).
As one of the fastest-growing communities in the United States, the rich and diverse histories of Asian American and Pacific Islander communities have been deeply intertwined with the history of the Americas. Dr. Gonzalves will bring these stories to life, connecting past and present through the lens of AAPI contributions to American culture. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to engage with the history, art, and culture of AAPI communities and learn about the stories behind these extraordinary artifacts.
