Lexington Pops Chorus welcomes new singers in September and January each year. We will hold two free, open rehearsals at 7:30pm on September 3rd and 10th in Clark Hall of Hancock Church, 1912 Mass Ave, Lexington (on the Green). Auditions are not required, but singers must be able to read music. We sing a wide variety of music, including classical, jazz, blues, folk, gospel, Broadway and more. If you love to sing, join us!
Our winter concerts will be held on January 17 and 19, 2025, and will celebrate the 250th Anniversary of the Battle of Lexington. This concert will feature eminent women composers, their historic influence and the ongoing struggle for human rights. Among the many selections included in this concert are Gwyneth Walker’s “The Midnight Ride of Paul Revere”, Rosephanye Powell’s “I Dream A World”, and Alice Parker’s “Our Native Land”. This program is supported in part by a grant from the Lexington Council for the Arts, a local agency, which is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency.
Lexington Pops Chorus is in its 43nd season and enjoys the enthusiasm of singers from over 20 towns. Maxwell Evrard is the chorus’s new conductor/director. John Tarrh has been the assistant conductor for 10 years, and David Owens is in his 21st season as our accompanist. Lexington Pops Chorus is a member of The Greater Boston Choral Consortium.
