Shelter to Soldier, a nonprofit organization that adopts dogs from local shelters and trains them to become service dogs for post 9/11 Veterans suffering from invisible wounds, will host their 14th Annual ‘Be the Light’ Gala on August 14th from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at The USS Midway Museum (910 N Harbor Dr, San Diego, CA 92101).
Hosted on the Flight Deck overlooking San Diego Bay, the evening will bring together community leaders, supporters, veterans, and service dog teams for a night of inspiration and impact. Guests will enjoy beer, wine, specialty cocktails and small bites, a three-course dinner, live musical entertainment, exclusive event gifts, and an exciting silent and live auction emceed by Clint Bell. Throughout the evening, attendees will hear firsthand stories from Veterans whose lives have been transformed through the companionship and support of Shelter to Soldier service dogs.
As the organization’s largest fundraiser of the year, proceeds from the ‘Be the Light’ Gala play a vital role in sustaining Shelter to Soldier’s programs year-round, including its psychiatric service dog training program for post-9/11 Veterans suffering from PTSD, traumatic brain injury, and other service-related challenges as well as survivors of Military Sexual Trauma (MST).

Shelter to Soldier is a nonprofit organization that adopts dogs from local shelters and trains them to become service dogs for post 9/11 veterans suffering from PTSD, TBI, Military Sexual Trauma, and/or other injuries associated with traumatic service experiences.
