Sharing a Good Book with Cole the Deaf Dog and Friends at the Vineland Public Library- June 4th

Children and teens will take turns reading to dogs individually or in small groups. Reading to therapy dogs is known to encourage independence and foster confidence in young readers. Cole the Deaf Dog & Friends are certified therapy dogs who promote literacy and disability inclusion. A little bit about Cole and his friends: Cole is a deaf Pitbull who is teaching the world to "hear with their hearts." His mission as a disability advocate is as simple as it is profound: a disability is not an inability; it is a superpower. What started as a personal bond soon sparked a movement. Cole’s ability to inspire resilience in children led to the creation of The Cole the Deaf Dog & Friends Foundation. Cole the Deaf Dog and Friends Foundation promotes and encapsulates the need and importance of Inclusion by teaching youth that being different is a strength, never a setback. Programs cultivate compassion by leaving a lasting impression of acceptance that students carry long after the program ends. Children younger than age 9 must be accompanied by an adult at all times in the library. Please register each child separately. Space is limited. If each child is not registered separately, we cannot guarantee that there will be space available for them.
