Shadow Mountain High Schools Presents First-Ever Arizona Public High School Production of Hadestown: Teen Edition Phoenix, Arizona 10/8/24 – Shadow Mountain is thrilled to announce its upcoming production of Hadestown: Teen Edition, marking the first time this version of the Tony Award-winning musical will be performed by a public high school in Arizona. The show will take place on October 31, November 1-2, 2024 at Shadow Mountain High School 2902 E. Shea Boulevard. Hadestown, originally conceived by Anaïs Mitchell, is a reimagining of the Greek myth of Orpheus and Eurydice, set in a hauntingly beautiful world where love struggles against the harsh realities of the underworld. The Teen Edition has been specially adapted for younger performers, offering a unique opportunity for high school students to engage with this modern classic in a way that resonates with audiences of all ages. Director Joe Flowers shared excitement about bringing this landmark production to the Arizona stage: "We are so excited to be one of the earliest productions of Hadestown: Teen Edition. This modern musical won the Best Musical Tony in 2019 and is a great blend of New Orleans jazz, modern folk, and Greek myth.
