SF Jazz Artist Ed Johnson & Novo Tempo End of Summer Concert
Renowned San Francisco-based jazz composer, vocalist, guitarist, and producer Ed Johnson, along with his acclaimed band Novo Tempo, will close out the summer season with a captivating performance at the Peninsula Jewish Community Center (PJCC) in Foster City. The concert, taking place on Sunday, September 15, 2024, at 5:00 PM, promises to be an unforgettable evening filled with the vibrant sounds of Brazilian-flavored jazz from Johnson’s latest album, For Every Living Thing (Cumulus Records), available on all music streaming platforms.
Set against the scenic backdrop of the PJCC’s outdoor venue, the show marks the final installment of the Center’s summer concert series. Audiences are invited to unwind and enjoy Johnson's signature blend of breezy bossas, samba rhythms, and smooth jazz.
Johnson’s latest album, For Every Living Thing, has been well-received, earning airplay on over 65 radio stations nationwide. Jazz Weekly describes the album as “an album of breezy bossas … with hints of vintage Jobim and Claus Oberman.” Marc Myers of JazzWax/Wall St. Journal, calls the album “breezy and jazzy-joyous,” and Roadie Music of Brazil hailed it as “a charming album with mature and attractive musicality.”
