Sembrando Resistencia y Cosechando Salud: A Community Garden Event Against Exide
Our communities know we can’t trust the state to protect us, so through our Get The Lead Out research project with @uscehc and @oxyejresearchgroup we developed a community action plan in response to our research findings that 4 out of every 5 homes “cleaned” by the state that we soil sampled still have high levels of lead, and over 90% of homes just outside the cleanup area that we soil sampled have high levels of lead.
Impacted East Yard Members and members of @mottstreetjardin (El Hoyo del Eastside Mott Street Urban Farm) are putting the plan into action by offering workshops, resources, joy and cultura to build community. Caile!
