Sci-FEAST
Open from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 9, Sci-FEAST is a free, all-day event that showcases how food, nutrition, health and STEM all go together. Through one-on-one interaction with more than 150 experts in food and beverage production, animal science, nutrition, agriculture, health and more, guests will discover more about food — with opportunities to enjoy food and beverage experiences from our region and around the world. Among the featured activities will be:
• A discussion on pet nutrition basics by Dr. Jordan Wood, a senior nutritionist with the Nestlé Purina PetCare Company.
• A Global Food Science Experience that explores foods and cultures around the world, featuring students from Washington University in St. Louis’ McDonnell International Scholars Academy.
• Cooking demonstrations by SSA Executive Chef Kore Wilbert, who oversees food preparation and catering at the Science Center.
• A presentation on how botanicals are used to create and infuse beverages by local distiller StilL 630.
• Hands-on activities, tables and taste-tests throughout the Science Center.
