SCADFILM Storytellers Series Presents: Unearthing Global Stories with Filmmaker Gelila Bekele
Join us on Wednesday, February 19, at 11:15am at SCADshow in Atlanta for a special screening and in-conversation with filmmaker Gelila Bekele, as she reflects on leading an all-female crew to bring her short documentary, "MAi: Life Is Not Honey", to life. Gelila will share her approach to capturing international stories, including how she built trust within communities and navigated cultural sensitivities. "MAi: Life Is Not Honey" explores the intersection of climate change, gender inequality, and the importance of girls' education in rural Ethiopia.
The screening will precede the in-conversation. Tickets are free for SCAD Card holders and SCAD alumni, and $10 for the general public. For more information, email [email protected].
