Sat.Sept.26 Art Opening - "100 Haikus about Horror... Death, Life, Monsters, Protectors"
Join us on Sat.Sept.26 from 6pm-9pm for the opening reception of “100 Haikus about Horror... Death, Life, Monsters, Protectors.” Featuring art by: Suza Kanon, Tom Sale, Tiny Irizarry, and Michael Lagocki, this exhibit includes paintings, illustrations, & ceramic facejugs.
A recent horror-movie themed poetry book featured illustrations by local artists, who will be showing their other artwork at this exhibit. Tiny Irizarry's expressive paintings and drawings make up her horror focused series for this show. Michael Lagocki is known as a comic book artist who founded Art, Love, Magic & will be signing his other new book as well. tom sale aka "pinky diablo" is exhibiting some of his irreverent and ironic skeleton ink illustrations with watercolor paintings on reclaimed vintage book covers, and a series of tiny shrunken franken-heads. Suza will be exhibiting bisque-fired ceramic facejugs, martyred saints, angels & demons. Plus we’re offering copies of the art book she ghostwrote as S.L. Skinner, “100 Haikus about Horror Movies,” at the gallery.
Opening reception 9/26 will feature surf rock by the band Insecto Ray Orchestra.
