Sarang - Colors of South Asian Music
This 60- 90min live music concert is a collaborative effort by acclaimed artists of South Asian descent from New England, bringing the sounds and stories of the region. The concert combines live music with conversation and aims to inspire and educate the community, sparking curiosity into the region's history, arts, and culture, encouraging thoughtful dialogue on the power of music in bridging cultural divides and fostering a more inclusive society. This program is made possible through the support of the Milford Cultural Council and the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency. Free and open to public will be free, for all ages, and open to the public. No RSVP required.

About these artists -
Pranav Swaroop is a well-known Indian Classical Violinist from Boston, who has brought a fresh perspective through innovative collaborations. He was honored as one of the 2024 Makers by WBUR, Boston's NPR news station. As an independent artist and with his Carnatic fusion band, 'Project Mishram,' Pranav has brought Indian classical music to global stages through performances in over 13 countries. His work has been recognized with many awards and recognition from the Massachusetts Cultural Council and the City of Boston Office of Arts and Culture, among others.
Inesh Krishnamurthy is a seasoned guitarist and arranger from the Boston area known for creating a unique sonic landscape by fusing rock, metal, jazz, and world music, with a strong influence from Carnatic traditions. Born and brought up in the US, a Berklee alumnus, Krishnamurthy's dedication to crafting a personal sound is evident in his arrangements for the South Asian Music Ensemble.
Shivaraj Natraj is a master of Konnakkol-beatboxing, an art form that blends the recitation of rhythmic syllables commonly observed in South Asian musical forms with beatboxing. A versatile singer, multi-percussionist, and a recent graduate from the Berklee College of Music, Shivaraj has brought Carnatic music and Konnakkol to international music festivals such as Louder than Life, ArcTangent, UK Tech Fest, and so on. He has also toured globally as a key member of three-time Grammy winner Ricky Kej's ensemble.
