Join the following community partners in celebrating the rich history of Santa Cruz County: Pajaro Valley Historical Association (PVHA) Watsonville Public Library Santa Cruz Public Libraries UCSC Special Collections Watsonville Buddhist Temple Agricultural History Project Aptos History Museum Capitola Historical Museum City of Santa Cruz – Historic Preservation Commission Daughters of the American Revolution – Santa Cruz Chapter Driscoll’s Inc. exTANt at the Tannery Friends of Santa Cruz State Parks Friends of the Cowell Lime Works Historic District Genealogical Society of Santa Cruz County Ikebana Flower Loma Prieta Museum Native Daughters of the Golden West – Santa Cruz Parlor No. 26 Researchers Anonymous San Lorenzo Valley Museum Santa Cruz Archaeological Society Santa Cruz County Historic Resources Commission Santa Cruz Mission State Historic Park Santa Cruz Museum of Art & History (MAH) Santa Cruz Museum of Natural History Scotts Valley Historical Society Soquel Pioneer and Historical Association Watsonville-Santa Cruz JACL There will be discussions about the Castro Adobe and the history of the Watsonville Buddhist Temple. Food and beverages are available for purchase at the event thanks to Carmona’s BBQ Deli & Catering. Live music is provided by the 5Ms band (made up of Santa Cruz State Parks staff and docents) at a pair of 30-minute sets at 1:30pm and 2:30pm outside the temple. We will also have an early 1900s fire engine on site thanks to the Chief Gene Friend Museum. We’ll see you between noon and 4:00pm at the Watsonville Buddhist Temple on Saturday, May 17th!
