Title: Sacred Heart - Sacred Art
Artists: Lisbeth Cheever-Gessaman – Wall art, giclee prints, and canvas
Michael Bailey - Assemblage/Mixed-media sculpture and wall mounted art
Synopsis:
A diverse and unique collection of the relics and icons that comprise the sacred act of the human experience through artistic expression of Love via the flesh and spirit.
Intention statement:
"Sacred Heart, Sacred Art: A Divine Collaboration" brings together two bodies of mixed media artwork (3D sculptural and original wall art) that illuminate the shared sacred symbolism of the divine feminine and the sacred heart.
As a creator focused on imagery of goddesses, Lisbeth explores feminine divinity manifested through nature, mythology, and mysticism, whereas Michael’s art is more earth bound and raw in its humanness. This joint exhibition reveals the myriad ways spiritual truth is expressed through symbols across cultures and eras.
