Rockabilly Thursdays: Mike Mettalia & Midnight Shift

Mike Mettalia and Midnight Shift are a four piece blues band that specializes in what they call Rhythm, Rockin' Boogie. It is an infectious blend of blues, jump and rockabilly music. The Shift plays all over PA and travels also to NJ, DE and NYC where they are regulars at The Rodeo Bar. They have competed as semi finalist in The International Blues Challenge in Memphis in 2006 and returned in 2012. Two of their CD's 2011's Rhythm Rockin' Boogie and 2012's Midnight Sun were both nominated for Best Self Produced CD at The International Blues Challenge in 2012 and 2013. The band tours twice a year through the South playing in NC,SC,and Florida. Mike Mettalia and Midnight Shift have also opened for Carey Bell, Guitar Shorty, Asleep at the Wheel, Little Ed, Joe Louis Walker, Gary US Bonds, Robert Gordon,Graham Parker,Shemekia Copeland and backed up blues harmonica legend Steve Guyger several times. The band is currently working on their fourth CD to be released in 2014 and coincide with their 10th anniversary together.
