Rock the Block 2025 - May Concert
The Downtown White Plains Business Improvement District, in collaboration with the City of White Plains and Doug Panero Presents, proudly hosts Rock the Block. This event will take place every third Wednesday of the month from May through August, running from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM. White Plains Hospital is the presenting sponsor of Rock the Block.
The street closure on Mamaroneck Avenue from Maple Avenue to E. Post Road, will create a spacious, car-free area featuring outdoor dining and plenty of activities such as mini-golf, corn hole, crafts for kids, seesaws, and best of all, free live music! Featured activities include a 9-hole mini-golf event sponsored by various local businesses, which you can learn more about during the event.
This month’s lineup will feature headliners The Big Takeover and opening act The Only Bay Allstars.
Headliner, The Big Takeover is fronted by Jamaican-born singer/songwriter Nee Nee Rushie. This dynamic seven-piece band blends reggae, ska, and retro soul into a sound that’s bold, joyful, and impossible to resist. With blazing horns, electric guitars, and powerhouse vocals, their energy lights up the stage!
Opening the evening for us are The Only Bay Allstars, featuring 10-year-old guitar prodigy Bay Melnick Virgolino. He’s already played the Apollo, shared the stage with Buddy Guy, and headlined The Bitter End. This kid can shred!
We hope to see you all there! Invite your friends, bring the kids, and dance the night away to our summer tunes! If you plan to watch the live performance in the seating area, we suggest bringing your own chair!
Participating restaurants on the block include Brazen Fox, Cantina, Freebird, Hudson Grille, Lazy Boy Saloon, Lilly’s, Ron Blacks, and Sundance Kitchen.
