There's none of the terrifying fury Lane once unleashed on tracks like "I Don't Want to Know" or "Imitation Life." And there's quite a bit more of the slyly winking seductress she introduced long ago in songs like "Idiot." Mostly, there is a gentle country pastel wash over the entire affair that brings to mind the best of Dolly Parton or Patsy Cline.
