Robert C. Jackson: It's About Time

Robert C. Jackson is a realist painter who uses humor and nostalgia in his colorful still life paintings to offer commentary on human experiences. His work, which is part still life and part trompe l’oeil, features a charming cast of characters including iconic toys, vividly colored balloon dogs, American pop culture references, and Jackson’s signature stacked crates. The paintings are clever, delightful, and amusing and his tight compositions are brimming with potential movement. Robert C. Jackson began his career as an Electrical Engineer with Motorola Communications & Electronics. In 1996 he decided to pursue an art career and has been painting full time ever since. Jackson’s successful art career started at Somerville Manning 34 years ago. He resides in Kennett Square, PA and exhibits in galleries and museums from coast to coast. Collections include the Delaware Art Museum, Brandywine Museum of Art, Evansville Museum of Art, History, and Sciences, New Britain Museum of American Arts, and The Mattatuck Museum. Somerville Manning Gallery is open Tuesday – Saturday from 10:00 – 5:00.
